Symphonie 32 / Siansach 32
In March 2020, during the first lockdown due to the Covid pandemic, I began writing a symphony for Irish instruments: to celebrate the centenary of Ireland's partial independence in 2022, this Symphony 32 / Siansach 32 is an attempt at presenting the major milestones in Ireland's history and the issues of the past, present and future, internally and externally.
This 50-minute musical work takes its name from the 32 counties of the island, of which 26 make up the Republic of Ireland and 6 form Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom.
The core of the project is an event aimed at the general public to increase knowledge in France and abroad of the history of Ireland and its diaspora.
